About Us Rapid Explorer was founded in London, England by veterans of the
shipping industry who believed that travelers prefer fast, comfortable,
safe, and reliable transportation with a high level of customer service
to low cost low value alternatives. In order to meet these goals,
the company uses Hydrocruiser vessels which have been designed specifically
for conditions in the regions they operate; thereby providing the
smoothest ride possible.
These state-of-the-art fast ferries transport passengers quickly
and safely in premium comfort. The enclosed, air conditioned vessels
feature on board snack and beverage services, audio and video entertainment,
and employ safety features similar to those found on larger ocean
going ships. They also meet the highest international safety standards.
Today the company operates a scheduled daily service between St.
Maarten and St. Barths and their vessels are also available for charters
to many local islands. During the busy tourism season, the schedule
is expanded to include departures from Marigot on the French side
of the island. Future plans include offering scheduled service and
day trips to other local islands from St. Maarten and establishing
additional fixed routes.
For visitors, Rapid Explorer also offers day trips which can include
island tours and lunch at a variety of local restaurants. Their friendly
staff can also make arrangements for rental cars, hotel rooms, airport
pickup and drop off, and other special services as you might require.
Rapid Explorer is actively involved in the local community of St.
Maarten and St. Barths. They regularly provide transportation for
local youth and community service groups, allowing them to attend
sports competitions and exhibitions. They participate in many local
festivals and employ local residents in both land based and sea based
positions. Their operations contribute significantly to the economy
through the payment of departure taxes and use fees.
